시놀로지의 저장소 관리자 - HDD/SSD 항목 제일 마지막에 "4K 기본 하드" 라는 항목이 있는데 대부분 "아니요"라고 되어있을것이다.
최근 고용량 하드는 모두 4k byte sector (4Kn 모드) 를 지원한다고 하지만 대부분 4k byte sector 모드를 쓰지 않고 기존 512 byte sector (512 모드) 와 호환되는 512e 모드를 사용한다.
확인 방법 )
fsutil fsinfo sectorInfo X: [엔터]
X 는 HDD 드라이브 레터
logical sector 512 byte , physical sector 4096 byte 라고 나올것이다
아래 방법을 이용해 4Kn 모드를 활성화해보자

ㅇ 위의 링크들에 나온 방법은 아래와 같다.
0. fsutil fsinfo sectorInfo X: [엔터]
X 는 4k 로 바꿀 WD HDD 드라이브 레터
logical sector 512 byte , physical sector 4096 byte 라고 나올것이다
2. hugo 를 다운받아 설치
3. hugo s --device [엔터]
화면에 " \\.\PhysicalDrive<n> " 라는 부분을 복사
4. hugo format -g \\.\PhysicalDrive<n> -b 4096 --fastformat [엔터]
warning 이 나오지만 Y 로 진행하면
USB 외장 하드인 경우 100% fail 이라고 뜬다.
아무키나 눌러서 종료하면 된다.
이 USB 는 더이상 윈도우에서 인식되지 않으므로 당황하지 말고 분해를 한 후 Synology 에 넣으면 4K 기본 HDD 가 "예"로 인식된다.
윈도우는 4Kn 을 지원한다고 하니 USB 외장하드 컨트롤러가 512 byte 섹터만 지원하기때문이라고 의심이 된다.
USB 가 아닌 SATA 로 연결해서 작업한 경우 에러가 나지 않고 정상적인 포멧까지 완료되고 윈도우에서 인식, 사용이 가능한지는 테스트 해보지 않았다. 이부분은 해본후 업데이트 예정. 해본분의 답글도 환영한다.
